Sundbybergs Idrottsallians attends Solna SAM's debate evening at Solnahallen

On August 26, we participated in the political debate at Solnahallen, hosted by Solna Sam, the counterpart to Sundbybergs Idrottsallians in Solna.

At 6:00 PM, as the chatter quieted, Jessica Falkman welcomed everyone to the evening's political debate.

There was agreement on many issues, but some differences between parties added extra energy to the discussion.

Topics discussed by the party panel included:

• Increasing activity grants

• Reducing waiting lists

• Upgrading existing facilities

• Prioritizing children and youth

• Grassroots sports are more important than elite sports

• Consideration for minority groups such as NPF and Para athletes

• Focus on vulnerable areas and gender equality

Annual Meeting of Sundbybergs Idrottsallians

Chairman Peter Schilling guided the attendees and the seven voting member clubs through the agenda for the year.

Alongside the approved activity plan, a sports policy project supported by RF-SISU Stockholm was presented.

The chairman and all five board members were re-elected for another term.

Sports policy debate

Sundbybergs Idrottsallians hosted a sports policy debate evening at the Culture Center in Hallonbergen, moderated by Jessica Falkman.

All eight parties were represented on the panel. Jessica posed questions to the politicians, who had the chance to explain their commitments to sports and clarify their parties' positions on the key issues raised by sports organizations and audience questions during the event.

The evening showed broad agreement on sports matters, though some parties stood out with higher ambitions, such as proposals for increased sports budgets.

Sundbybergs Idrottsallians hosted a member gathering at Sundbyberg IK's facilities.

There was strong engagement and many questions. The highlight of the evening was when Dan Sundblad and Leif Karlsson joined us to share about the Sports Initiative's work, which has resulted in many new sports alliances across Stockholm.
