On August 26, we participated in the political debate at Solnahallen, organized by Solna Sam, the counterpart to Sundbybergs Idrottsallians, in Solna.
The clock struck 6:00 PM as the chatter quieted and Jessica Falkman welcomed everyone to the evening's political debate.
There was agreement on several issues, but some differences between the parties added extra energy to the discussion.
Topics discussed in the panel included:
Increasing activity grants
Reducing waiting lists
Upgrading existing facilities
Prioritizing children and youth
Grassroots sports are more important than elite sports
Minority groups such as NPF and Para need consideration
Vulnerable areas and gender equality are key issues
Leif Karlsson from the Sports Initiative was also present, sharing positive experiences from collaborations between schools and sports.
Today, sports alliances exist in many municipalities; Sundbyberg and Solna are two strong examples of alliances that have long benefited sports in their communities.
